Cooper-Atkins 470-0-8 Digital Mini Infrared Thermometer with Neck Lanyard, CE, RoHS and WEEE Certified, -27/428°F Temperature Range
Product Description
The Cooper-Atkins 470-0-8 mini digital dual-range infrared thermometer is used for noncontact temperature measurement when monitoring surface temperatures of food products and food service equipment. It measures temperature from -27 to +428 degrees F (-33 to +220 degrees C), with an accuracy of + or - 3.6 degrees F (+ or - 2 degrees C). It has a 1:1 infrared distance-to-spot ratio for measuring temperature. The Minimum/Maximum temperature memory function stores high and low readings, and it automatically holds a temperature reading for 15 seconds. The unit operates on a single CR2032 lithium battery, and turns off automatically after 15 seconds of non-use to conserve battery life. The European Conformity (CE) marking indicates compliance with applicable European Union (EU) directives, and it is compliant with Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) standards. It comes with a lanyard and instructions.

Digital infrared thermometers measure the temperature of surfaces from a distance. They may measure temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or both. Infrared (IR) thermometers work by focusing the infrared radiation emitted by a surface onto a detector called a thermopile. The thermopile turns the heat into electricity, which is measured and converted to a temperature reading. The reading is then displayed on an LCD display. IR thermometers are used to measure temperature when an object is fragile, as in ear thermometers, or dangerous to be near, as in the case of industrial equipment.
Cooper-Atkins manufactures time, temperature, and humidity instruments for industrial, HVAC/R, health care, and food safety applications. The company, founded in 1884, is headquartered in Middlefield, CT.
